WWE SmackDown star and Women’s Champion Jade Cargill addressed allegations of performance-enhancing drug (PED) use on April 9, 2026, following a series of accusations regarding her physique on the social media platform X.

The controversy began when an X user, @CenationCity, shared a clip of Cargill and described her physique as one of the most suspicious I’ve seen. Another user quoted a gym video of Cargill performing presses, claiming she 100% take PEDs.

Cargill responded to the accusations by attributing her physical appearance to GREAT genetics, hard work, and dedication, stating there was no need to question my journey.

In a detailed response to one of the critics, Cargill explicitly denied the use of banned substances, stating, No, I’m not on anything. She encouraged the user to look at her brother as evidence of her natural genetics and asserted that she has ALWAYS been muscular.

Addressing the specific gym footage that sparked the claims, Cargill explained that the clip was recorded during a period when she had discovered neck issues which affected my lifting.

WWE Substance Abuse Policy

Beyond her personal defense, Cargill pointed to the organizational oversight of the WWE as evidence of her compliance with health and safety standards. She stated that WWE also does drug tests like crazy and noted that such testing makes the accusations unnecessary.

WWE Substance Abuse Policy

The WWE maintains a comprehensive substance abuse policy designed to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all its Superstars. This policy involves regular and rigorous testing for a variety of banned substances, including:

  • Anabolic steroids
  • Human growth hormone
  • Other prohibited performance-enhancing substances

This testing framework has been in place for several years and serves as a benchmark within the professional wrestling industry to maintain fairness and participant safety.

The debate over the physical appearances of WWE Superstars has become increasingly prevalent as the industry evolves, with Cargill’s recent exchange highlighting the ongoing scrutiny faced by athletes with high muscle mass.
