White and developer Jagex.
Jagex and Lyrical Animation Expand Gielinor to Screen
The upcoming project brings the medieval fantasy world of Gielinor to the screen. Jagex first released RuneScape in 2001, growing the franchise to include Old School RuneScape and RuneScape Dragonwilds through quests, combat, and cooperative adventures. Bellamy stated that the studio sees huge potential to bring the intellectual property to life for existing players and a new audience alike.
Charlie White Partners on Meatier Productions
Content creator Charlie White brings massive community reach to the adaptation through his Meatier Productions banner. White has amassed more than 25 million followers across his online channels and platforms. I’ve been playing RuneScape for 22 years, and it’s one of my favorite IPs ever,
White said of the partnership. Lyrical Animation creative director Daniel Dominguez praised the game’s unique storytelling voice, noting that collaborating with White again is a dream come true.
Lyrical Animation Plans 2027 Reveal for Animated Series
Production on the animated series is currently in its early development stages. Lyrical Animation and its partners expect to reveal further project details in 2027. Bellamy noted during his announcement that studio leadership wanted the game’s community to be the first to know about the expansion.
When we talk about the future of RuneScape, we don’t just mean games. We see huge potential to bring Gielinor to life in new ways, both for the millions who already know and love it and for a whole new audience.
