Jaguar is scheduled to unveil a new concept car previewing its next-generation electric vehicle on December 2nd. The company is about to enter a new era with the introduction of the long-awaited electric GT.
The next-generation concept was previously reported to be unveiled at the end of the year. This time, in JLR’s (Jaguar Land Rover) second quarter financial results announcement, it was revealed that the project will be announced as the “next stage in Jaguar’s transformation” at the art fair “Miami Art Week” that will open in the United States. The concept car showcases Jaguar’s new design language, which will be featured in the next-generation lineup of three cars: a four-door GT, a Bentley Bentayga-like SUV, and a Bentley Flying Spur-class sedan.
All three models are based on the long-wheelbase JEA platform developed exclusively for Jaguar.
The 4-door GT has a cruising range of over 690km and a maximum output of over 580ps. Prices are expected to start at around 100,000 pounds (approximately 20 million yen).
Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover recently told Autocar that the decision to show the concept car in the United States was due to the importance of that market, but the brand’s origins He added that he was not taking this lightly.
“That doesn’t mean Britishness isn’t important. It’s a very important part of the brand. But Jaguar is also a global brand. Look at the size of the US market. It’s very important to us.”
In August of this year, JLR announced that it had begun test driving a prototype of the next generation Jaguar car. The GT is scheduled to go on sale in the second half of 2025, with deliveries starting in the summer of 2026.
Jaguar recently ended production of the F-Pace for its home market in the UK and halted all new car sales. However, it is still on sale in other regions.
A statement from JLR to the Autocar UK editorial board said:
“From November 2024 onwards, Jaguar new car sales will end ahead of the new brand launch at the end of this year and product launch in 2026.”
“We have now finished allocating current generation Jaguar vehicles. There are models available as certified pre-owned vehicles through Jaguar’s UK sales network.”
JLR CEO Adrian Mardell said production of the F-Pace for global markets will end in the first quarter of 2026.
