Precisely, in the indictment filed by the Prosecutor’s Office and with which it called Juan Carlos Suárez Ortiz to trial, details the minute-by-minute account of the beating that caused the death of the seventh-semester Systems Engineering student at the Universidad de Los Andes.
“Taking advantage of the defenseless situation in which they had placed him, JUAN CARLOS SUAREZ ORTIZ and RICARDO RAFAEL GONZALEZ CASTRO continued to hit him, directing kicks mainly to the head and chest, an aggression that continued, despite the fact that JAIME ESTEBAN MORENO JARAMILLO presented evident abundant bleeding from the nose, eyes, mouth, and signs of choking on his own blood,” the Prosecutor’s Office states.
It is added in the indictment that “as a direct result of this joint aggression, JAIME ESTEBAN MORENO JARAMILLO suffered multiple skull fractures, which triggered his death on the same day.”

Prosecutors allege Juan Carlos Suárez Ortiz and Ricardo Rafael González Castro knowingly participated in a plan to kill Jaime Esteban Moreno. The accusation states both men understood they were acting in concert to cause Moreno’s death.
The attack stemmed from a dispute inside the BEFORE CLUB, according to authorities. Witnesses reported an argument preceded the assault, leading the attackers to take matters into their own hands.
The Fiscalía General de la Nación argues Suárez ortiz and González Castro intentionally inflicted multiple blows, primarily targeting Moreno’s head, fully aware of the potential for fatal consequences. They continued the assault despite knowing Moreno was defenseless on the ground.
Prosecutors maintain the men understood the severity of their actions and that their conduct was illegal. They allegedly knew coordinating to violently attack a vulnerable person, and focusing blows on a vital area like the head, was a wrongful act. despite this understanding, they proceeded with the attack.
