Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Jaime Glas Odom, founder and creative director of Queen of Sparkles, is expecting a baby, affectionately nicknamed “Baby Royale” by fans, according to a report from The Advocate. The announcement was made at a baby shower held on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
Glas Odom founded Queen of Sparkles, a brand known for its sequined and novelty clothing, after a career in engineering. She previously created flame-resistant workwear for women through her company, HauteWork!, which she later sold to National Safety Apparel in 2019.
Queen of Sparkles has grown to be sold in over 1,000 stores across the United States and ships internationally. The brand is headquartered in Glas Odom’s hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and employs several current and former Louisiana State University (LSU) students.
Glas Odom’s passion for sparkly clothing began in her youth with technicolor dance costumes and playing dress-up. She spent her 20s collecting vintage sequined pieces, eventually leading her to create her own designs for events like SEC football games and themed parties.
From Engineering to Entrepreneurship
Before launching Queen of Sparkles, Glas Odom pursued a career in petroleum engineering after graduating from LSU. Recognizing a gap in the market, she designed and patented flame-resistant work jumpsuits specifically tailored for women. This initial venture, HauteWork!, focused on providing functional and fashionable workwear for female engineers.

The success of HauteWork! demonstrated Glas Odom’s entrepreneurial spirit and her ability to identify and address unmet needs in the clothing industry. She sold the brand to National Safety Apparel in 2019, allowing her to fully dedicate herself to Queen of Sparkles.
Queen of Sparkles’ Growing Reach
The brand’s popularity has steadily increased since its first collection launch, with designs now available in over 1,500 boutiques across the United States, as noted in a recent feature by 225 Magazine. Queen of Sparkles offers a wide range of sequined outfits in sizes XS-XXXL, with limited-edition runs each season.

Glas Odom’s designs have also been showcased at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) in an exhibition titled “Threads of Evolution: Engineering a Community That Sparkles,” which ran through November 9, 2025. The exhibition highlighted the journey of Queen of Sparkles, from its origins in workwear to its current status as a celebrated fashion brand.
The LASM exhibition included a collaboration with Glas Odom’s husband, Hunter Odom, founder of Second Line Shirts, creating a 1920s-inspired design to celebrate the museum’s historic train station centennial.
“Each garment tells a story of growth, strength and self-expression— a reminder that beauty and purpose can go hand in hand,”
Jaime Glas Odom
The upcoming arrival of “Baby Royale” marks a new chapter for Glas Odom and her family, adding to the already vibrant story of Queen of Sparkles.
