Flooding Impacts Parts of Jakarta on Sunday

Flooding affected parts of West Jakarta and North Jakarta this morning, February 1, 2026. Water levels reached between 10 and 20 centimeters, according to the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

As of 6:00 AM local time, the BPBD reported that flooding impacted the Tegal Alur subdistrict, as well as Marunda and Kapuk Muara in North Jakarta.

“BPBD records show that currently there are 9 RT (neighborhood units) and 1 road segment affected,” stated Mohamad Yohan, Head of Data and Information Center at the DKI Jakarta BPBD, to reporters.

The flooding is attributed to overflowing water from the Angke River and the Nagrak River. In Tegal Alur, the overflow of the Semongol River also contributed to the flooding.
