Measles Situation in Jakarta Currently Under Control

Current Status
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government reports that the spread of measles in the capital city is currently under control, as of September 12, 2025. While cases have been identified, the number is not considerably higher compared too the previous year, according to Governor Pramono Anung.
Governor Anung stated at city Hall on Friday, september 12, 2025, that “In general, the trend of measles cases in Jakarta is relatively stable. There is no surge as happened in several other regions.”
Case locations
measles cases have been found in two districts: Cilincing and Cengkareng. However,Governor Anung emphasized that the scale of these cases remains manageable and comparable to previous years.
“Our current findings are still limited to two locations, and even that with the number of cases that are not much different from the previous year,” Pramono said.
Preventative Measures
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is focusing on preventing the spread of measles from regions outside of Jakarta. Preventing cross-regional transmission is a primary concern.
Governor anung explained, “We focus on preventing cross-regional crossing. Do not let transmission from outside actually trigger spread in Jakarta.”
The government is also strengthening surveillance systems and inter-agency coordination to ensure prompt handling of new cases. Immunization campaigns are being intensified in vulnerable areas.
Ongoing Vigilance
Despite the stable situation, the DKI jakarta Provincial Government remains vigilant and prepared. Governor Anung stressed the importance of continued preparedness, stating, “We remain vigilant and maintain preparedness, as even though the figure does not rise, vigilance remains the key.”
