Jakarta Secures Land Rights to Assets Valued at Rp 102 Trillion

The Jakarta provincial government has received 3,922 land-use right certificates for municipal assets from the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), safeguarding assets valued at Rp 102 trillion (approximately $6.4 billion USD). The move is intended to provide legal certainty and prevent future disputes over ownership.

According to a statement released on Saturday, February 14, 2026, the certification process was initiated to secure the city’s property and ensure its long-term stability. Minister of ATR/BPN, Nusron Wahid, emphasized the importance of legal certainty in protecting state-owned assets.

“Alhamdulillah, today we have completed the task and mandate from the Governor of DKI Jakarta regarding the request for land certificates. If valued, it reaches Rp 102 trillion. With these certificates, we are able to save state assets worth Rp 102 trillion,” Nusron stated.

The collaboration between the Ministry of ATR/BPN and the Jakarta provincial government is expected to continue, with plans to issue land certificates for waqf land – land designated for charitable purposes – during the upcoming month of Ramadan.

“Hopefully this cooperation will last and People can jointly secure state assets,” Nusron added.

The certificates cover a total land area of 563.9 hectares and encompass a diverse range of municipal properties. These include 2,837 road segments, 691 buildings housing community facilities like youth centers, public halls, and sports venues. The certified assets comprise 154 educational institutions, 123 parks, 69 government buildings, 39 sub-district/district offices, and 17 former official residences.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung formally received the certificates, stating that they would be utilized to support the city’s ongoing development initiatives. He highlighted the significance of the certification process beyond mere administrative compliance.

“The handover of these certificates is not just an administrative matter, but has a significant impact for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. As a global city, these certificates provided by the Ministry of ATR/BPN will further make Jakarta more administratively organized, transparent, open, and better,” Pramono explained.

The move comes as Jakarta continues to modernize and attract investment, with secure land rights seen as a crucial component of a stable and predictable business environment. The certification of these assets is expected to streamline administrative processes and reduce the potential for legal challenges related to land ownership, fostering greater confidence among investors and residents alike.
