Jack Hager Announces Retirement from Professional Wrestling, Focuses on Trucking Business
Jack Hager, known to wrestling fans as Jack Swagger, has officially retired from professional wrestling.Teh announcement came during an appearance on the Rule Breakers with Sayara podcast, confirming a shift in career focus towards a new venture in the transportation industry.
Wrestling Career Highlights
Hager began his professional wrestling career in 2006,gaining prominence in WWE where he captured the ECW Championship in 2008 and the World Heavyweight Championship in 2010. He was notably known for his “We The People” catchphrase and patriotic character.
Following his departure from WWE in 2017,Hager signed with all Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019. He quickly became a member of Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction, participating in high-profile matches such as the Stadium Stampede at Double or Nothing in 2020 (WWE.com). While remaining a presence in AEW, his in-ring appearances became less frequent starting in 2023.
Hager quietly left AEW in 2024, a departure that went largely unnoticed until his recent podcast appearance.
Transition to Trucking
During his appearance on Rule Breakers with sayara,Hager revealed his new business venture. He has established a trucking company based in Tampa, Florida, focusing on routes throughout the state. Hager clarified that he is not personally driving the trucks, but rather managing the operations and overseeing the business.
“I’m getting out of wrestling. I pretty much,I coudl say I’m retired from it,” Hager stated on the podcast. “I started a trucking company and so… running routes through Tampa and Florida. I’m not driving, got people driving. But yeah, I’m excited. Something to stick my teeth into. Hard work always pays off.”
