Jamal Murray Injury: Nuggets vs Warriors Status & Full Injury Report

by Ahmed Hassan - World News Editor

Nuggets’ Murray Questionable, Warriors’ Curry Out for Sunday Matchup

The Denver Nuggets are set to face the Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon, hoping to continue the momentum from their dominant 157-point performance against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. However, both teams are navigating significant injury concerns as they prepare for the contest.

Jamal Murray’s status for the game is currently listed as questionable due to a right hamstring issue, according to the official Nuggets injury report. The team is also monitoring the hamstring injuries of Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson. Despite the potential absences, Denver boasts a 36-21 record and a strong 21-10 record on the road.

The Warriors, meanwhile, will be without star guard Stephen Curry, who is out with a right knee bone bruise and patella-femoral pain syndrome. Jimmy Butler is also sidelined with a season-ending ACL tear, and Kristaps Porzingis is listed as probable as he returns from injury with workload management considerations. Golden State currently holds a 29-27 record and has struggled in Curry’s absence.

Murray’s availability will likely be determined closer to tip-off. The guard is having a career year, averaging 25.7 points, 7.6 assists, and 4.5 rebounds while shooting with an elite 61.5 true shooting percentage. His role has become even more crucial during periods when Nikola Jokic is unavailable, where his production jumps to 27.8 points and 8.3 assists across 12 games.

Denver will be without Aaron Gordon (right hamstring strain), Peyton Watson (right hamstring strain), and Jalen Pickett (right knee soreness) regardless of Murray’s status.

The Warriors are also dealing with several other injuries. Seth Curry is out for injury management, while Nate Williams, Malevy Leons, and LJ Cryer are all sidelined due to unspecified injuries.

Despite the challenges posed by key absences on both sides, Sunday’s game promises to be a closely contested affair. The Nuggets are coming off a cold streak, having lost five of their previous seven games before their historic win over Portland. A victory in San Francisco would provide valuable momentum as they approach the playoffs.

The Nuggets injury report lists:

  • Jamal Murray: Questionable (hamstring)
  • Aaron Gordon: Out (hamstring)
  • Peyton Watson: Out (hamstring)
  • Jalen Pickett: Out (knee soreness)

The Warriors injury report lists:

  • Stephen Curry: Out (knee)
  • Jimmy Butler III: Out (ACL tear)
  • Seth Curry: Out (injury management)
  • Nate Williams: Out (injury)
  • Malevy Leons: Out (injury)
  • LJ Cryer: Out (injury)
  • Kristaps Porzingis: Probable (workload management)
