A Farewell to a Beloved husband, Father, and Grandfather
It is wiht profound sadness that we announce the passing of James, a cherished resident of Arbutus Ave., Renmore, Galway.James, who was also formerly of Emyvale, Co. Monaghan, and Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, passed away peacefully on July 8th, surrounded by the remarkable care of The Galway Hospice. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
James was a devoted husband to Nancy, and a dearly loved father to Anita, Martin, and Theresa. His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren: Char,Fionn,Ivo,Ailbhe,Eliza,and Beatrice. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, John and Grant, his sister Bridie, and his brother Tony, along with a wide circle of extended family, neighbours, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.He was pre-deceased by his son Paul, his sister Ann (Barrett), and his brothers Tommy, John, and Francis.
A Life of Love and Gratitude
James’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff of The Galway hospice and St. Anne’s Ward at UHG. Their compassionate and unwavering care during James’s final weeks provided immense comfort to him and his loved ones.
Tributes and Services to Honor James
The family will receive friends and well-wishers for a period of repose in Áras Naofa, located within the grounds of St. Oliver Plunkett Church, Renmore. This will take place on Friday, July 11th, from 5:00 PM. A removal to the adjoining church will follow at 6:30 PM.
The Requiem Mass to celebrate James’s life will be held on Saturday,July 12th,at 11:00 AM in St.Oliver Plunkett Church,Renmore. For those unable to attend in person, the Mass will be available to view online via a live stream at https://www.mcn.live/camera/st-oliver-plunkett-renmore-galway.
A private cremation service will take place on Sunday, July 13th, at Shannon Crematorium.
A Request for Family and Donations
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Galway Hospice, in recognition of the exceptional care provided. the family also requests that their privacy be respected at their home during this time.
A book of condolence is available for those who wish to leave a personal message for the family. Your messages of kindness and support are deeply appreciated during this sad time.
