James McGrory: A Life Remembered
The community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of James McGrory, late of 2 Beechwood rd., Letterkenny, and formerly of Sharagore, Linsfort, buncrana. A retired telephonist with the Revenue Commissioners, James passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A Beloved husband, father, and Grandfather
James is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine, with whom he shared a lifetime of happiness. He was a devoted father to Seamus (letterkenny),Niall (with his wife Jacqueline) of Omagh,Ellen,Maria (Letterkenny),and Aoife Carroll (with her husband Michael) of Glenswilly. His role as a grandfather to his cherished grandson, M.J., brought him immense joy.
He will be fondly remembered by his brothers, Neil and Denis (Linsfort), his sister Anne Fullerton (Buncrana), as well as his many nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends. James’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of rest,Mountain Top,Letterkenny (F92 XE35) on Monday,August 11th,2025,from 2:30pm to 4:30pm,offering an opportunity for friends and family to pay their respects. Following this, his remains will be removed to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, for Reception Prayers at 5pm.
He will repose overnight at the Cathedral, with Requiem Mass celebrated at 11am on Tuesday, August 12th. For those unable to attend in person, the Mass will be live-streamed via www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny. Following the Mass, James will be laid to rest in Conwal Cemetery.
The family respectfully requests that their privacy be respected at this arduous time and asks that the house remain private.
