Borthwick’s exit follows a suspension from the BBC in June 2024 after a⁤ video surfaced appearing to show him using a disabled slur on the set of strictly Come Dancing.The incident occurred during his participation in the 2024 season of the show. He​ was partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu.

Despite the suspension, borthwick⁣ and xu ultimately ​won the 2023 Strictly Christmas special, demonstrating his dancing ability. This win‌ occurred prior to the allegations and subsequent suspension.

Wynne ⁤Evans Incident

This ⁤situation occurs alongside a separate incident involving Welsh opera ‍singer and former ​BBC radio Wales presenter, ‌Wynne Evans, 53.Evans was dropped​ by the BBC ‍after issuing an apology ⁣for using “inappropriate language” during the launch of ‍the Strictly Come Dancing tour. According to The Sun, Evans ‍clarified that ‍the comment was a nickname for Borthwick ⁢and was not sexually motivated or directed at a female cast member.
