Diddy Faces Mistrial Motion in Sex Trafficking trial
Updated June 11, 2025
The federal sex trafficking trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has taken another turn as his legal team filed a motion for mistrial. The motion arrives amid new testimony alleging the music mogul continued hosting sex parties even after federal raids on his properties.
A witness identified as Jane testified that Combs continued to host what she termed “freak offs” – sex parties involving hired male escorts – following the FBI raids in Miami and Los Angeles in March 2024. Jane, who stated she maintained a romantic relationship with Combs until his arrest in September, claimed to have attended gatherings in May, July and August. her testimony suggests the raids had little impact on Combs’ private behavior, despite increased legal and media attention surrounding the sex trafficking role.
Combs’ attorneys are challenging the prosecution’s evidence, alleging inaccuracies in testimony from model Bryana Bongolan. Defense lawyer Alexandra Shapiro, in a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, argued that prosecutors knowingly presented false testimony regarding an alleged incident in 2016 where Combs supposedly dangled Bongolan over a Los Angeles balcony. Shapiro contends this event could not have occurred.
The defense maintains that Combs was in New York at the time of the alleged incident, staying at the Trump Hotel from Sept. 24-29. Hotel records, entered as evidence GX7Y111, support this claim.”The government knew or should have known this testimony was false,” shapiro wrote, accusing the prosecution of relying on perjured testimony.
The mistrial motion adds further complexity to a case already fraught with serious accusations and high-profile witnesses. Judge subramanian is expected to rule on the motion today, June 10. The trial represents a critical juncture for Combs, with his legacy, freedom, and public image hanging in the balance as the sex trafficking trial unfolds.
What’s next
Judge Subramanian’s ruling on the mistrial motion will determine the immediate course of the trial.Further testimony and legal arguments are expected as the case proceeds.
