Tokyo, January 15 ⁤(Jiji Press) – Japanese ⁢astronaut Yui ⁣Kimiya, along ​with three international ⁣crewmates, returned to Earth on‍ Thursday, January 16, 2026, aboard a SpaceX⁢ Crew Dragon spacecraft. The landing⁤ occurred in the​ waters off the‌ coast‍ of ‌California at approximately 17:40 Japan Standard Time (JST). The ⁤spacecraft’s hatch was opened around 18:20 JST.

Kimiya,55,was the third crew member to exit‌ the capsule,greeting cameras ‍with a smile as the recovery​ team welcomed the astronauts. SpaceX’s ‌Crew Dragon is a reusable spacecraft
