At the Michinoku Mori no Lakeside National Park in Kawasaki, Miyagi Prefecture, the viewing season for about 7,000 Kochia scoparias has arrived. This year, the rainy season had little rainfall and the temperature remained high for several days, so the Kochia scoparias grew well, and visitors can enjoy Kochia scoparias that are larger than last year.
Taku Wakatsuki of the Planning and Operations Division of the Park Management Center said, ”I hope that visitors will feel the change of seasons through the changes in color and shape.” Kochia scoparias begin to turn red in early October, forming a sea of red flowers, and enter the best viewing period.
