Jared Leto, the actor and musician, faces multiple accusations of inappropriate behavior, with some women describing his actions as “predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.” A recent report details claims from nine women alleging inappropriate conduct over several years, including instances of flirting with teenagers.
One woman recounted an encounter in 2006 when she was 16. She said Leto, then 34, approached her outside a Los Angeles cafe while sitting with Ashley Olsen, who was 19 at the time. She said Leto got her number and called her later that week.
Another woman, model Laura La Rue, described a similar experience in 2008. At 16, La Rue said Leto, 36, stared at her intensely at a Beverly Hills event and asked for her number. They began emailing, and she later visited his home in April 2009.
Allie Teilz, a Los Angeles DJ, shared a 2012 Facebook post on Instagram last month, alleging Leto “tried to force himself on you backstage.” She added that Leto knew her age and did not care, calling his behavior “predatory, terrifying and unacceptable.”
A representative for Leto has denied the accusations, calling teilz’s claims “demonstrably false” and stating that la Rue’s communications with Leto “contain nothing sexual or inappropriate.” The representative added that La Rue later applied to work as Leto’s personal assistant, which La Rue denies.
“He just walked out, dick out, like it was normal … I thought maybe this was just what adult men do,” La Rue said, recounting a separate visit when she was 17.
