New Haven United Football Club is beginning its second season as a semi-professional member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The club, founded in 2025 by owner and NXTHVN co-founder Jason Price, held a press conference on May 8, 2026, to mark the start of the new campaign.

The event took place at the University of New Haven’s Ralph F. DellaCamera Stadium in West Haven, which also serves as the team’s practice facility. Price was joined by Head Coach Kledis Capollari and New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker during the announcements, as reported by the New Haven Independent.

New Haven United enters the season as the defending 2025 North Atlantic Conference Champions. During the press conference, 24-year-old center back and team captain Tyrone Malango presented the silver cup the club earned following their championship victory in 2025.

The current roster consists of approximately 30 players, blending local talent with international experience. The squad includes athletes from Ghana, Spain, South Korea, and Sweden.

Among the homegrown talent is striker Mohamed Kane. A 27-year-old New Haven native and ESUMS graduate, Kane played high school soccer at Wilbur Cross before joining the semi-professional ranks. Outside of soccer, Kane is employed in the Central Finance Department at Yale.

Kane described the experience of playing at a high level of competition in his hometown as amazing.

The club’s second season officially commences on May 9, 2026, with an away match against Osner’s Football Club (FC).

New Haven United will split its home game schedule between two local venues: Yale’s Reese Stadium in New Haven and the University of New Haven’s Kathy Zolad Stadium in West Haven.
