EAST RUTHERFORD,‍ N.J. — The New York Giants are seeing⁣ promising signs from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart during spring practices. Dart, selected 25th overall in this year’s draft, has been primarily working with the second-team offense, behind veteran Russell Wilson.

Dart capped off Tuesday’s minicamp practice with a touchdown pass to Dalen cambre, an undrafted wide ⁤receiver. The ⁣pass was thrown deep down ⁤the right⁣ sideline. wednesday’s practice is scheduled to be light, possibly marking⁣ Dart’s final throw before training camp.

Giants coach Brian Daboll highlighted Dart’s rapid learning. “He’s done excellent picking up data,” Daboll said. He also noted the value of having veterans like Wilson and Jameis Winston to guide the rookie.⁢ Daboll added, “He’s smart, aggressive with the football, which I⁢ like.” The ‍coach emphasized that the real test for Dart ⁣will come with live hitting ‍and ⁢preseason games, but acknowledged the ⁢rookie’s progress.

Dart began the spring with the third team, learning ⁣the⁣ Giants’⁤ offensive system. He has since progressed to the second team and has even taken some snaps with the first team. ‍This approach appears to⁢ be part⁢ of Daboll’s plan to develop the young quarterback.

Quarterbacks coach shea Tierney noted Dart’s preparation and transition to the professional level.”It’s been⁣ impressive to see the last couple weeks just how he’s prepared and made the transition to becoming a pro,” Tierney said.⁤ He added that ⁢Dart’s understanding of ⁢what it takes to be a professional was‍ a key reason the Giants ⁣were drawn to him.

“All touchdowns we love,” Winston said of dart’s final‍ pass. ⁢”I don’t think there has been one‍ touchdown that I haven’t loved in my life. So we were excited about that. But it’s just the beginning.”
