Jay-Z Seeks Dismissal or Identity Reveal in Diddy Rape Case
Jay-Z Demands Identity of Accuser in Rape lawsuit, Calls Allegations “Heinous”
New York, NY – Just hours after being named in a lawsuit alleging rape, music mogul Jay-Z is fighting back, demanding the identity of his accuser be revealed and calling the allegations “heinous.”
The lawsuit, filed on october 20th by attorney tony Buzbee, accuses Sean “diddy” Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000. The suit initially identified two unnamed celebrities, “Celebrity A” and “Celebrity B,” as participants in the alleged assault. On December 8th, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, was identified as “Celebrity A.”
In a motion filed in federal court in New York, Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & sullivan, argues that the plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, should be required to disclose her identity.
“Mr. carter deserves to know the identity of the person who is effectively accusing him – in sensationalized, publicity-hunting fashion – of criminal conduct, demanding massive financial compensation, and tarnishing a reputation earned over decades,” Spiro wrote in a memorandum accompanying the motion.
Jay-Z himself issued a scathing statement, denying the allegations and accusing Buzbee of extortion.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” Jay-Z wrote.
He further criticized Buzbee, stating, “This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics! I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I’m more than prepared to deal with your type.”
Buzbee responded on social media, claiming that jay-Z had attempted to bully and harass both him and the plaintiff.
The lawsuit against Combs, who is currently incarcerated awaiting trial on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, is one of dozens filed by Buzbee. Combs has pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to go on trial in May 2025.
No date has been set for a hearing on Jay-Z’s motion to dismiss the rape case or have jane Doe unmasked. Spiro, a high-profile attorney, has represented other notable figures, including alec Baldwin in his recently dismissed involuntary manslaughter case.
This case is developing, and further updates are expected.
