Sakari oramo (born 1965) is a Finnish conductor currently serving as the chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra in England. He began his musical journey as a violinist and concertmaster with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra before formally studying conducting under Jorma Panula at the Sibelius Academy in Finland in 1989. Oramo launched his conducting career in 1993, taking the helm of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
