JEE Main Session 1 Results Delayed, Now Expected February 16
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the release of results for the January session of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026, now targeting a release date of February 16, 2026. The results were originally scheduled to be announced on February 12, 2026.
Candidates awaiting their scores for the exam, which took place between January 21 and January 29, 2026, can expect to access them on the official NTA websites: nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in. The agency will also release the final answer key alongside the results, allowing candidates to assess their probable scores based on the JEE Main marking scheme.
The JEE Main exam was conducted in two shifts each day – from 9 AM to 12 noon and from 3 PM to 6 PM – in a computer-based test format. More than 13 lakh candidates participated in the session, competing for admission to undergraduate engineering (BE/BTech), architecture (BArch), and planning (BPlanning) programs across the country.
The NTA employs a normalization process to ensure fairness in scoring, converting raw marks into a standardized NTA score or percentile ranging from 100 to 0. This process accounts for variations between different shifts and exam papers.
The agency has already begun accepting applications for the April session of the JEE Main exam. Earlier, on February 6, 2026, the NTA closed the objection window for the provisional answer key for Session 1.
These scores are crucial for aspiring engineers, architects, and planners seeking admission to various institutions nationwide. The NTA will also release cut-off scores, providing candidates with a benchmark for their performance and college prospects.
Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official NTA websites for the latest updates and announcements regarding the result release and subsequent counseling procedures. Further information regarding marks versus percentile calculations and expected cutoffs will also be available.
