Jeff‌ Buckley ​Documentary ‘It’s Never Over’ Sets Summer Release Date

A new documentary about Jeff⁣ Buckley, titled It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, ​is set to premiere in‌ U.S. cinemas Aug. 8. The film will later be available for ⁤streaming⁢ on HBO Max.

The film, which⁤ debuted at Sundance Film Festival ‌to positive reviews, explores the life of the influential ‌musician, who⁢ tragically died at age 30 in 1997.⁣ The Jeff Buckley documentary features never-before-seen footage and insights from those closest to him.

Magnolia Pictures, the film’s distributor, said the ‍documentary “covers the life of ⁤the‌ rising young star with an‍ otherworldly voice and boundary-pushing artistry.”

The film includes interviews with Buckley’s mother, Mary Guibert, former partners Rebecca Moore and Joan Wasser, bandmates Michael Tighe and Parker Kindred, and musicians Ben Harper and Aimee Mann.

“I’ve spent practically my entire career trying to make this film‌ which ‌takes a very intimate look at one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time,” ​director amy Berg said. “I’m so excited Magnolia and HBO have come on ​board to share this film​ with‍ the world and ⁢give old fans and new audiences a chance ⁢to experience Jeff from ‍this​ unique vantage point.”
