The match occurred during Arquette’s brief and much-criticized run with the company, a period that saw the actor even capture the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Jarrett faced Arquette and DDP in both a tag team match with Eric Bischoff and the “Ready To Rumble” steel cage handicap match.

“So, ‘Ready To Rumble’ was the theme, I completely understand that, Arquette and DDP, it was – there was a bunch of us, Eric [Bischoff]we did a premier or whatever it was, in Hollywood, so ‘Ready to Rumble’ was a big corporate initiative,” Jarrett said.
”I’ll say: all the – we’ll call it – creative nonsense and trying to make sense and do patch jobs, just trying to get there, but onc we got to the pay-per-view, I can truthly tell you, me and Dallas had good chemistry,” he added.
Jarrett also revealed he was grieving Owen Hart’s death at the time and took extra precautions during the match.He acknowledged the risk of the match becoming a “cluster” but credited everyone involved, especially himself and DDP, for making it work.
