Troubadour Launches Jellyfish FX, New Visual Effects Venture

Troubadour, a London-based theater and studios group, has unveiled Jellyfish FX (JFX), a new visual effects venture.This launch follows the closure of Jellyfish Pictures earlier in 2025.
With the backing of Jellyfish Pictures founder Phil Dobree, Troubadour acquired the trademark and branding rights. JFX aims to make a splash in the visual effects industry.
Vince Woods, head of studios at Troubadour, expressed enthusiasm for the new venture. “We’re thrilled to welcome JFX into the Troubadour family,” Woods said,citing the legacy and talent associated with the Jellyfish name. He added that JFX’s commitment to cutting-edge technology aligns with Troubadour’s vision.
The JFX leadership team includes Managing Director Phil Greenlow, Creative Director Luke Dodd, Head of Production Amber Ducker, Head of Technology Paul Baaske, head of 2D Jamie Wood, and Head of CG Pete Seager. The studio, located on Shaftesbury Avenue, will concentrate on film and episodic visual effects projects.
Greenlow emphasized the team’s excitement. “We’ve been incredibly fortunate to join forces with Troubadour Studios to launch JFX,” he said. He noted the opportunity to build upon past values and working relationships, while also welcoming new talent.
JFX is already engaged in two Netflix feature films and has pending orders for three series. The team’s recent visual effects work includes the BAFTA-nominated “Lee,” “Black Mirror” Season 7,”Gangs of London” Season 3,”The Rig” Season 2,and upcoming series for Apple TV and Amazon MGM.
