Jen Majura, the guitarist who gained prominence with Equilibrium, Knorkator, and Evanescence, has announced she is leaving the music industry. Majura shared her decision on Instagram, citing changes in the music industry, including‍ AI developments and shifting societal values, as factors in ‌her choice.

Majura stated that she wants to focus on healthier pursuits. While not ruling out future musical endeavors, she expressed feeling disconnected from the current attitudes and values prevalent in the industry. Majura had been a professional musician since 2000, playing guitar and bass in various bands and releasing solo albums.

To her fans, ⁤Majura offered​ four previously unreleased tracks as a final musical gift.These songs were writen ⁢over a ⁤decade ago ‍with guitarist Dennis Hormes. Majura found ⁤the ​demo recordings while cleaning⁢ her computer⁢ and decided they were too ⁢good to keep hidden.

Majura joined‌ Evanescence in 2015, ‌replacing Terry Balsamo as lead guitarist. She performed on the band’s albums ‍ Synthesis (2017) and The Bitter Truth ⁤(2021). Her departure from Evanescence was announced in ​May 2022.

Instead of wasting another year of‌ my life constantly hoping for new energy, drive and creativity, I‘ve reached ⁢a‌ point in my life where ‍I can‌ confidentially lean back in peace. I am grateful for every⁢ bit of that, but the world has changed. I can confidently make up my mind to stop.
