Jenelle Evans Addresses Son jace’s Public Exposure of Private Texts, Reveals Legal Troubles

Jenelle Evans is responding after her 16-year-old son, Jace, publicly shared screenshots of their private text messages, leading to criticism of the former Teen Mom 2 star. Jace’s posts, which called Jenelle “unstable,” prompted a response from Jenelle, who attributed his actions to a reaction to being disciplined.

“Jace posting our private texts was his reaction to being rightfully disciplined,” Jenelle wrote on Facebook. “While it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle. Navigating Jace’s different medical diagnoses has not been easy but I have never stopped fighting to make sure he has the resources, love and support he needs…

In May, Jenelle revealed Jace’s mental health diagnoses, stating, “My son has been dealing with mental health disorders as he’s been 10 years old. He was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 10, and most recently, in 2023, he was also diagnosed with major depressive disorder, along with his ADHD and defiant disorder ODD.”

Jenelle stated she will “always stand by” Jace, “no matter what challenges come our way and I will continue to work on being the best mom I can be to all three of my kids.” She requested “empathy, kindness and prayers” from her followers.

Jenelle further disclosed that Jace has recently encountered legal issues. “Recently he’s also been in trouble with the law these past few months and is having a hard time adjusting to the rules set before him,” she revealed. “I’ve been trying everything to help him navigate it, but we are butting heads in the process.”

“Please give us grace at this time,” Jenelle pleaded. “This is hard on all of us.”

Jenelle’s Facebook posts were met with significant backlash. Comments criticized her lifestyle, parenting, and past behavior.

“But you are out all the time in Las Vegas partying going to night clubs,” one commenter wrote.

“I’m sorry but telling your teenage child ‘f**k you’ is not ‘rightful discipline,'” another stated. “Absolutely not.”

“You reap what you sow Jenelle….ultimately and tragically his outbursts are trauma from you and the way he was raised…” a third person commented.

“‘Posting our private texts’ you’ve shared his entire life to the world,” another pointed out.

As of this writing, Jace’s posts remain online, and he has not made any further public statements.
