Jenna Elfman, beloved for her iconic role in the hit 90s sitcom dharma & Greg, is making a triumphant return to ABC. The actress will join the cast of Shifting Gears, a new multi-camera comedy starring Tim Allen, premiering January 8th.
Elfman will play Eve Drake, a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across the street from Allen’s character’s classic car restoration shop. The role seems tailor-made for Elfman, who is a classically trained ballerina with a background in professional dance.Shifting Gears centers around matt (Allen), a stubborn widower whose life is turned upside down when his estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her children move in with him. Joining Allen and Elfman are Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett Margolis. Elfman’s return to ABC marks a full-circle moment for the actress. After her breakout role in Dharma & Greg, which earned her a Golden Globe and three Emmy nominations, she starred in the CBS sitcom Courting alex and the single-camera comedies 1600 Penn (NBC) and Imaginary Mary (ABC). More recently,Elfman has explored dramatic roles,including a five-season run on AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead.
Shifting gears premieres January 8th at 8 PM on ABC, taking the same time slot once occupied by Dharma & Greg. Episodes will be available for streaming the next day on Hulu.
