Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins contestant Lucy Spraggan is facing surgery after sustaining a notably brutal injury during filming. The singer-songwriter bravely battled through numerous challenges on the show, but one incident left her with a lasting and painful consequence: a broken pubic bone.
A Painful Injury During Filming
Spraggan, 34, endured several injuries while participating in the grueling military training course. However, it was the injury to her pubic bone that proved to be the most debilitating. She described the pain and bleeding as “bitter” and lasting for weeks.
“I broke my little lunch – it was very ugly. Its not a frequent injury. Honestly,it has never been the same since then,so much that I will soon be surgery to fix it,” she revealed to The Sun.
Spraggan isn’t entirely sure how the injury occurred, suspecting the safety strap may have been too tight during a challenge.Initially, she underestimated the severity.
“Then I looked at it,and there was a break, there was a lot of blood. The doctor came over and I turned my back as at that moment I wasn’t interested in anything,” she recounted. She even admitted to abandoning all “dignity” when explaining the injury to the on-site medical team, who initially focused on potential leg injuries.
Beyond the Broken Bone: A Cascade of Injuries
The broken pubic bone wasn’t the only physical toll the show took on Spraggan. She experienced a series of mishaps that tested her resilience.
At one point, she nearly lost her teeth and briefly fainted. A particularly dramatic incident involved a jump from a helicopter into the water. Instead of a clean entry, she landed face-first, resulting in a meaningful impact.
“I hit the water with a face, wich made me a great big monocle – which was also seen at my wedding,” she joked, referencing a previous facial injury.
The force of the impact also permanently displaced facial filler she had previously received. “There was filler under my eyes, and when I hit the water with great power, the filler migrated to the side of my face,” she explained. “By then it had hurt everywhere… and the filler didn’t go back to its place, I had to solve it at home.”
Spraggan’s Dedication to the Show
Despite the constant barrage of injuries, Lucy Spraggan remained committed to the experience. It’s clear she pushed her body to the limit for the sake of the show, demonstrating incredible determination and a willingness to endure significant discomfort.
