Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are revisiting their slasher film past. Sony Pictures recently released the trailer for the latest installment of I Know What You Did Last Summer, a direct sequel to the 1998 film, I Still Know What You did Last Summer. chase Sui Wonders and Madelyn Cline also star.
The trailer opens with a wedding party before Cline’s character receives a threatening note, echoing the original film’s premise.A flashback reveals a car crash involving Cline and her friends, who decide to leave the scene.The role of Ray, played by Prinze Jr., becomes crucial as the group seeks help. Hewitt, reprising her role as Julie James, warns them about the relentless nature of their pursuer, stating, “You can’t run. you can’t hide. You get them before they get you… It’s personal to them.”
The film promises suspense, action, and deadly traps. Hewitt delivers a familiar line from the 1997 original, heightening the anticipation. Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King round out the cast.
Hewitt announced her return to the franchise in December via social media, hinting at her character’s comeback.
