Jenson Button Aims for Le Mans Victory with Cadillac Racing

Jenson Button, ⁤the former Formula 1 champion, is set to compete in the 2025 Le Mans 24 ⁣Hours, joining Cadillac Racing.This year marks Button’s fourth attempt at the endurance race,as he⁤ seeks his first victory at Le Mans.

Button’s ⁢previous Le Mans ‍experiences include a retirement in ⁢2018 due to engine trouble with SMP Racing, a run with ⁣Hendrick Motorsport NASCAR in 2023, and his first outing with Jota in a Porsche-powered⁢ car last year. For 2025, Team Jota‍ has transitioned to Cadillac.

The⁤ 45-year-old Button will co-drive the Cadillac V-Series‍ R with Sebastien Buemi and Earl⁢ Bamber, both of whom are⁣ past Le Mans winners. Buemi secured victories with Toyota⁣ in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022, while Bamber won with Porsche in 2015.

⁤ “Last year was the first year really where I had a chance of winning in the top category,” Button said. “I still feel a bit of a‍ newbie when it comes to racing⁤ at Le Mans, which I love because there’s so much ⁢excitement and adrenaline.”

Button‍ emphasized the value of his experienced⁢ teammates. “I come here with a team that has a lot of experience racing here and winning⁤ here in their two categories,” ‍Button said. “Also my‍ two team-mates are very experienced so it helps me ⁣a lot get to⁣ grips with the ⁢car and ⁢the weekend.”
