A Jersey⁢ City couple faces child ​endangerment charges⁢ after⁣ allegedly leaving their ⁢two young children unattended in Brigantine,New Jersey.‌ Felix Rodriquez, 43, ⁣and Lydia Monterrosa, 38, were arrested after​ police responded to a call regarding unattended children.

Brigantine ‍police said a concerned citizen alerted officers to‍ the situation around 8:45 p.m. ‍on Sunday.The officers discovered an 8-year-old and a 1-year-old alone inside a residence on the 4900 block of Harbor Beach ⁣Boulevard. Further examination ​revealed that no parents​ or ​guardians were present.

Police contacted Rodriquez ​and Monterrosa, instructing​ them to ⁤return ⁤to the property. ‍Upon⁤ their ​arrival, authorities said the couple exhibited signs of alcohol impairment. The parents were then taken into custody and charged with child endangerment and related offenses.

Authorities said Rodriquez and Monterrosa have been released with pending court appearances.
