Former WWE Champion and Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura returned to the squared circle on Saturday, making a surprise appearance at WWE’s “Saturday Night’s Main Event” on December 14th. In a statement released through his newsletter, Ventura expressed his excitement about being back and lauded the company’s new leadership.
Ventura, who launched his wrestling career in the WWE (then WWF) in the 1980s, credited his son, Tyrel Ventura, for initiating his return. “It’s been such an incredible feeling to return to the place where my career essentially began,” he wrote.
The WWE Hall of Famer went on to praise the current atmosphere within the company, noting a stark contrast to his era. “The biggest thing I noticed was how different the energy and vibe is backstage,” Ventura shared. “You don’t feel a battle of egos like you often did back in my day. From the executive level to the locker room level you instead feel a very strong sense of teamwork and creativity.”

Ventura concluded his statement with a resounding endorsement of the company’s direction. “I think Paul, Nick Kahn, and the team at WWE are creating a truly incredible and unique surroundings unlike any I have seen before in the world of wrestling.”
