“YEET!” chanted the packed crowd at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas, as Uso took the mic, addressing Gunther: “At this weekend at Saturday Night’s Main Event, I’m taking home the big one.” Uso proclaimed he would beat Gunther, take the title, and hang it up in his room. However, Ring General Gunther doesn’t seem too concerned with Uso’s threats.
”You’re a really ‘funny little man,’” Gunther responded. “I was looking forward to facing you on Saturday Night’s Main Event after you refocused yourself… until today when I saw you walking in, acting like a complete dork.” Gunther acknowledges that Uso is a useful idiot, but his words and actions don’t align. Gunther believes that when the bell rings at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he’ll expose Uso as “the flash in the pan who has no business being this close to the World Heavyweight Championship.”
The drama continued with an irate Gunther punching Uso down and stomping him. Uso quickly turned the tables, knocking Gunther out of the ring with a superkick. Uso picked up the World Heavyweight Championship and held it up, challenging Gunther. Gunther got on the apron but soon left, taking the title with him.
Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to air this Saturday, January 25, on WWE’s streaming service, featuring:
- The World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther vs. Jey Uso
- Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens: Winner faces Roman Reigns at WrestleMania
- Sheamus challenges WWE Intercontinental Champion Bron Breakker
- “The Judgment Day’s” Reed walks alone
Stay tuned for more updates on these upcoming matches.
