Jim marshall, a Minnesota Vikings icon and former NFL record holder for consecutive games played, died Tuesday at age 87 after an extended hospitalization, the team announced. Marshall was a cornerstone of the Vikings’ defense for two decades.
Marshall joined the Vikings in 1961, their inaugural season, and remarkably, never missed a game until his retirement in 1979.
