The Jiusan Society Huaqiao University Committee convened its fourth member meeting on May 8, 2026, to review the progress of the previous term and elect a new leadership committee to oversee its educational, scientific, and political functions.
The meeting was attended by Wu Jianping, the president and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Huaqiao University, alongside Niu Hong, a fourth-level researcher from the United Front Work Department of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. Also present were Xie Junrong, minister of the United Front Work Department of Huaqiao University, and Xu Li, the chairperson of the Quanzan Municipal Committee of the Jiusan Society.
Additional attendees included Lai Binglian and Lin Tianliang, vice chairpersons of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee of the Jiusan Society, as well as representatives from various democratic parties and heads of grassroots organizations within the university.
During the proceedings, Bai Xiaodong delivered a work report on behalf of the third Jiusan Society Huaqiao University Committee, detailing the achievements and activities of the outgoing leadership.
Election of New Leadership
The assembly proceeded to elect the new leadership committee to guide the organization’s future operations. Zhou Bihua was elected as the chairperson of the committee.

Joining the leadership as vice chairpersons are Li Fei, Shi Yalan, and Fu Shengjie.
Directives for the New Committee
Xu Li expressed approval of the committee’s previous achievements in scientific research, education, and the fulfillment of its role as a participating party. She urged the incoming committee to maintain a clear political direction and demonstrate new responsibilities in strengthening ideological foundations.
Xu Li further emphasized the importance of focusing on the fulfillment of duties and achieving progress in both professional and political roles, while renewing the organization’s internal construction, and foundations.
Wu Jianping congratulated the newly elected leadership and called for the committee to maintain strong political guidance by continuing to utilize the thought of Xi Jinping for a new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Wu Jianping specifically directed the new committee to align its efforts with the university’s “15th Five-Year” development plan and the major strategic goals of the province and city. He encouraged the committee to provide active suggestions and counsel to support these objectives.
The president also stressed the need for the committee to strengthen its own internal organization, improve the quality of its leadership team, and strive to make a greater contribution to the overall development of the university and the broader economic and social construction of the region.
