Layfield, who serves as a AAA announcer and attended recent events ringside, observed that the Lucha style is gaining momentum.

WWE Crossover Drives TripleMania Attention
The partnership between WWE and AAA has led to crossover showcases, including NXT talent competing against AAA stars at events like Worlds Collide. This year’s AAA TripleMania also drew heightened attention compared to previous iterations, buoyed by the WWE collaboration. Layfield specifically praised both nights of TripleMania, citing the Copa Bardahl Battle Royal and noting how Omos is developing under the tutelage of The Undertaker within the AAA environment.
There’s a lot of great producers that are down in AAA, some incredible guys that have some really good knowledge about what Omos needs to do; but also, what everybody needs to do there.

Contrasting Vegas and Mexican Crowds
Comparing the atmosphere of live crowds, Layfield noted that while Las Vegas generated a strong turnout—reaching three times the attendance WWE initially projected for the Friday night event—it still differed fundamentally from the intensity found in Mexico.
As great as the Vegas crowds were — and it was good — it’s nothing compared to a Mexican crowd.
