John Cho has joined the cast of the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series, “The Off Weeks,” alongside Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain. The announcement was made on .
Cho joins a cast that also includes Arian Moayed, Annaleigh Ashford, and Richard Gere, according to reports. The series is described as a drama centered around writing professor Gus Adler (Stiller), whose life is upended by a divorce. The story explores his struggles to manage life during his custodial “on weeks” and his burgeoning, potentially disruptive romance with Stella West (Chastain) during his “off weeks.”

This isn’t Cho’s first collaboration with Apple TV+. He has previously appeared in the series “Murderbot” and the second season of “The Afterparty” on the streaming platform. Most recently, he starred in the Korean spy drama series “Tempest,” which aired on Disney+. His television credits also include roles in “Poker Face,” “The Sympathizer,” Fox’s “The Exorcist,” and “Selfie.” He is also well-known for his roles in the “Harold &. Kumar” film franchise and as Sulu in the rebooted “Star Trek” movies.

Ben Stiller will executive produce the series through his production company, Red Hour, alongside John Lesher. Jessica Chastain will executive produce with Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films. Alissa Nutting (“Made for Love,” “Teenage Euthansia”) is serving as showrunner and executive producer. Michael Showalter, who developed the project with Semi-Formal Productions, is also an executive producer, alongside Jordana Mollick. Paul Lee and Gabriel Fisher will executive produce for wiip. Peter Principato, Allen Fischer and Brian Steinberg are executive producers for Artists First, and Dean Bakopoulos also serves as executive producer. Wiip will serve as the studio for the production.
