JOHOR BAHRU – A devastating road accident on July 20‍ has resulted in the tragic deaths of an e-hailing driver and his passenger, a Singaporean national, following a⁤ collision with‌ a lorry in Johor Bahru. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:27 AM, has sent shockwaves through the community and ‌highlighted ongoing concerns about road safety.

Details of the‌ Fatal Incident

According ‍to Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh, the North ‌Johor Bahru district police⁤ chief, the fatal crash took place as the e-hailing vehicle ‍was traveling from Johor Bahru towards Skudai. Preliminary investigations suggest that the 48-year-old e-hailing driver⁢ lost control of his car, leading to ⁤a collision with the rear left side of a lorry.

Victims⁤ and Immediate ⁤Aftermath

The ⁤e-hailing driver sustained severe head injuries and⁤ was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 27-year-old man from Singapore, also suffered critical head injuries. Despite receiving immediate medical attention and being transported to ​a hospital, he tragically passed away ‍while undergoing treatment.

The driver of the lorry, a 28-year-old local man, was reported‌ to be unharmed in the incident.
