JOHOR BAHRU – A devastating road accident on July 20 has resulted in the tragic deaths of an e-hailing driver and his passenger, a Singaporean national, following a collision with a lorry in Johor Bahru. According to Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh, the North Johor Bahru district police chief, the fatal crash took place as the e-hailing vehicle was traveling from Johor Bahru towards Skudai. Preliminary investigations suggest that the 48-year-old e-hailing driver lost control of his car, leading to a collision with the rear left side of a lorry.
Victims and Immediate Aftermath
The e-hailing driver sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a 27-year-old man from Singapore, also suffered critical head injuries. Despite receiving immediate medical attention and being transported to a hospital, he tragically passed away while undergoing treatment.
The driver of the lorry, a 28-year-old local man, was reported to be unharmed in the incident.
