Join Pal-chan for a Fun-Filled Day of Environmental Education at the Shizuoka City x S-Pulse COOL CHOICE Kamishibai Event
Environmental Education at Shizuoka Seiko Kindergarten
On September 12th, environmental education was held at Shizuoka Seiko Kindergarten using the “COOL CHOICE Kamishibai,” which was produced in collaboration with Shizuoka City and S-Pulse last year. The children interacted with the mascot character Pal and had fun learning about the environment together.
“COOL CHOICE” is a national campaign promoted by the Ministry of the Environment that encourages all kinds of “smart choices” that contribute to global warming countermeasures. From this season, it will be launched as “Deco-Katsu,” a national campaign to create a new and rich lifestyle that leads to decarbonization. Shizuoka City and S-Pulse are conducting awareness activities.
Learning through Picture-Story Shows with Pal
The children greeted Pal loudly when she introduced herself. When reading the picture-story show, the children watched and listened intently, occasionally chiming in with comments such as “That’s right!” and “That’s a big deal!” as they learned about what is currently happening to the earth. Pal introduced everyone to what they can do for the earth while showing off her water bottles and eco bags.

Afterwards, the children took a quiz to review the content of the picture-story show. Many people raised their hands and actively answered questions such as “When does carbon dioxide come out?” and “When not watching TV, do you turn it off right away or do you leave it on?”
To all the children who participated, please share what you learned in this class with your family and friends, and let’s work together to spread initiatives that are good for the earth!
