Jakarta police have dropped the inquiry into allegations that President Joko Widodo’s diploma was forged, issuing cease of investigation orders, or SP3, for Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis.The decision follows a special case review focused on restorative justice.
“It’s true, investigators have issued SP3s for the two suspects, Mr. ES and Mr. DHL. The investigation was halted based on law, in the interest of restorative justice,” said police Spokesman Kombes Budi Hermanto on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Hermanto explained the decision stemmed from a special case review held January 14, 2026, after requests from both the reporters and the suspects.The review considered whether the requirements for restorative justice, as outlined in regulations, had been met.
