Jonas Brothers Tour Dates Shift to Smaller Venues in Six Cities
The Jonas Brothers are making adjustments to their “Jonas20: Living the Dream Tour,” scaling back venue sizes in six U.S.cities. Concerts initially planned for stadiums will now take place in arenas or amphitheaters. The affected cities are Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, washington, D.C., and the Chicago area.
Fans learned of the changes Friday via email from Ticketmaster and announcements on the Jonas Brothers’ Instagram account. The Jonas Brothers tour is still slated to kick off Aug.10 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The replacement concerts will occur on the same dates as the original stadium shows. However,these are separate events,requiring fans to purchase new tickets. Automatic refunds will be issued to the original point of purchase. Those who previously bought tickets will receive priority access to a presale starting Wednesday at 10 a.m.local time.
In Los Angeles, the Sept. 6 show moves from dodger Stadium to the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. The Jonas Brothers previously played Dodger Stadium two years ago. Linkin Park made a similar move, shifting their Sept. 13 concert from dodger Stadium to the Intuit Dome.
Other venue changes include:
- Washington,D.C.: Aug. 12 show moves from Nationals Park to Jiffy Lube Live.
- Philadelphia: Aug. 14 show moves from Citizens Bank Park to Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.
- Chicago area: Aug. 26 show moves from Wrigley Field to Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park.
- Detroit: Aug. 28 show moves from Comerica Park to Little Caesars Arena.
- Dallas: Aug.31 show moves from Globe Life Field to Dos Equis Pavilion.
Not all stadium shows are affected. The Jonas Brothers are still scheduled to perform at MetLife Stadium in new Jersey on Aug. 10 and Fenway Park in Boston on aug. 23. Most of the other 43 tour stops were already planned for arenas.
“To the fans, we’re so excited to get out and be with you for our 20th Anniversary Tour! Every decision we make is with you in mind, ensuring the best experience for our unbelievable fans,” the band posted on Instagram. “We’re making some venue changes, but rest assured, all performances are still happening on the same dates and in the same cities… We apologize for any inconvenience these changes have caused and we can’t wait to see you on the road!”
