Jonathan Joss, the actor best known ⁣for​ voicing⁢ John Redcorn on⁤ “King Of‌ The ‍Hill,” was⁣ fatally‌ shot Sunday evening ‍in San Antonio, Texas. He ‍was 59.

Police discovered Joss with injuries and pronounced him dead at the⁢ scene. ‌Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, ⁢56, has ⁣been charged with murder‍ in connection with the incident. The investigation⁣ into the death of the ⁤actor ​and comedian ⁤is ongoing.

Joss’s ⁤husband, Tristan​ Kern de Gonzales, claimed​ on Facebook that the shooting followed “violent homophobic slurs” and that Joss pushed⁣ him out⁤ of the way,⁣ saving his ‍life. Kern de⁤ Gonzales alleged previous ‍harassment from⁢ neighbors, describing it as⁤ “openly ⁣homophobic.”

Kern de Gonzales said they were at Joss’s old​ home, which burned down earlier this year, when they found a dog’s​ skull. He said​ they were approached‌ by a ⁤man who threatened‍ them with a gun. “When the⁣ man fired​ Jonathan pushed me out of the way,” ‍Kern ‌de ⁣Gonzales said.
