Jonny Clayton emerged victorious at the Dutch Darts Championship, securing ‌his third career European Tour event win. The Welshman defeated ‍Germany’s Niko Springer in the final match.

Clayton’s 8-6⁤ victory over ⁣springer, ranked No. 93 globally,‌ marks his first European Tour title since ‌his Austrian Open win ⁢two years ago. The Dutch Darts Championship victory sees Clayton rise to No. 5⁢ in the world.

Earlier in the day,Clayton advanced through ⁣the bracket with wins over⁢ Ross Smith and Danny Noppert,followed by a 7-5 victory against Luke Humphries.

“this is a great feeling,” Clayton said. “I missed out to Josh Rock last year and I’ve gone one better this year.I’ve also had a ProTour win in Rosmalen,⁣ so this may be my new lucky home!”

Clayton, age 50, was runner-up in last year’s Dutch Darts Championship,⁣ losing to Josh Rock.

“what a player Niko is. He’s got such a big‍ future. He’s a great lad with a great attitude, and he shows it on‍ that dartboard,” clayton added.

The Dutch Darts Championship saw‌ Clayton demonstrate skill and determination.

“I ⁣came back somehow, and then I managed to get ahead and stay ahead. I’m⁢ so pleased to get over the line; its ‌brilliant,” Clayton said.
