The inaugural medaina Festival in ​Jordan delivered a blend of music, culture, and ​stunning landscapes.Held across eight ​days in May,the festival showcased Jordan’s beauty and history,offering attendees a unique experience in Petra,Wadi Rum and Aqaba.

The festival kicked off‍ with a dance performance, followed by a DJ set by Aline Umber. A projection of​ Jordanian history illuminated the rocks of Little Petra.

The next ‍day, a Petra tour took guests beyond‌ typical tourist spots. They explored inner valleys, met local families, and shared a customary midday meal. According to attendees, this⁤ communal ‍lunch was as memorable as any musical performance.

Later that evening, HVOB’s live club set stood out as a festival highlight.‍ Installations,​ lighting, and multimedia projections explored themes of memory and reclamation. Organizers‌ provided ⁢shuttle service to allow guests to fully immerse themselves in the experience.‌ Ben Sterling, however, was unable to perform his set.

From Petra,⁣ attendees traveled to Wadi Rum, known for its Mars-like landscape. Accommodation at Luxotel ​featured‍ domed bubble tents with ⁢skylights, allowing guests to view‍ the Milky ​Way from their beds. The desert setting transformed into a natural reverb ‌chamber for late-night performances near Rayaheb. Patrice Bäumel and Jimi Jules played sets under the stars.
