The 235.6-kilometer race from Roskilde to Copenhagen featured an‍ undulating course with 1,053 meters of elevation gain.An early breakaway, including Jensen Plowright (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and ‍others, gained nearly 4 minutes before being caught.

“After six tough days of ⁢racing in Switzerland, I felt a bit tired, but I still had some power left in⁣ the legs,” Meeus said. “the final was extremely demanding and really hectic… I still had ⁤a good kick, and I’m really happy I could ⁢take the win.”

Meeus’ participation in the⁣ Copenhagen Sprint was‍ notable because he had withdrawn from the tour de Suisse the day before. He had secured a stage win⁤ on Friday. The UCI granted him permission to race in Copenhagen, despite previous rules ⁣against switching races mid-event.
