The Rangers’ win secured the series victory in the rubber game of the three-game set.
The Rangers’ offence also saw contributions from Wyatt Langford and Jonah Heim, who each added sacrifice flies. Jake Burger contributed with a run-scoring double, and Sam Haggerty executed a suicide squeeze to bring in another run. This offensive surge helped the Rangers break a three-series losing streak.
Texas’ pitching staff proved to be the difference-maker, as they outscored St. Louis 19-4 throughout the series. deGrom (5-2) pitched six innings, allowing one run on four hits, with four strikeouts. Shawn Armstrong, hoby Milner, and Luke Jackson followed, maintaining the rangers’ lead.
