This incident⁢ was one of three attacks that occurred‍ within hours in the Cúcuta metropolitan ‌area.Separate attacks targeting the CAI Morichal police station and a patrol ​in La Concordia ​resulted in the deaths of two police officers and injuries to ⁣six⁢ others. The ⁢Metropolitan‌ Police of Cúcuta has attributed all three events to the National Liberation Army (ELN) as retaliation for recent security operations against the armed group.
