Joy Reid Launches New Show for Political Commentary

Joy Reid, the political analyst and journalist, is launching The Joy Reid Show on June 9, offering her signature brand of political commentary. The new series will stream every monday, Wednesday, and Friday on YouTube and major podcast platforms.
Reid said she is proud to serve as a trustworthy voice in journalism, especially as a Black woman in spaces where women, especially women of color, are often underrepresented.
The show will feature news analysis, commentary, and special guests. Amber Ruffin, who was reportedly dropped from performing at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and Ebrahim Rasool, former South African ambassador to the U.S., are slated to appear.A preview episode featuring Newark mayor Ras Baraka, a 2025 gubernatorial candidate, will air before New Jersey’s June 10 primary.
Reid previously hosted The ReidOut on MSNBC,which was canceled in february 2025.
Produced by Image Lab Media Group in washington, D.C., The Joy Reid Show will include deep-dive analysis and commentary on political, entertainment, and cultural headlines. “Freestyle Fridays” will feature a live, interactive segment with Reid, viewers, and guests. Reid plans to expand the show to five days a week later this year and involve her Joy’s House Substack subscribers.
