JP ​Peace to Tennessee: Legacy recruit joins Vols ‌football program

JP Peace, a linebacker from ‍knoxville’s West High School, has committed to the University of Tennessee, following in his family’s footsteps. Peace is the son⁤ of former Vols linebacker Robert Peace and grandson of Phillip Fulmer,⁢ the Volunteers’ legendary⁢ coach.

Peace, a Class ⁢of ⁤2027 recruit, chose Tennessee over offers from ⁣Florida State, Kentucky, and Virginia ⁢Tech. He made his decision shortly after receiving an offer from the​ Volunteers last month.

According to 247Sports,Peace solidified his commitment after attending Tennessee’s ‍camp‍ on June 1. He said ​that playing​ for Tennessee had been a ‌childhood dream, and the camp ⁤experiance confirmed his decision.

“It ⁤was always in the back of my ⁢mind… But when I went to camp, I got⁢ a chance⁤ to really spend a lot of time with all the coaches, just kind of‌ make‌ my decision confirmed,” Peace said.

While​ acknowledging the ⁣significance of his family’s history with the Tennessee Volunteers football program,⁤ Peace emphasized his relationships with‌ coach Jose Heupel and linebackers⁢ coach William Inge as key factors. He said he knows Inge will support him both on and off the field and help him develop his skills.

“Really,‍ the ⁣coaches stood out to me – just the way I know ⁤Coach Inge is going ⁣to be there for‍ me on and off ⁤the‍ field,” ‍Peace said. “That’s very important to‍ me. I know they can grow my skill to‍ the next level at Tennessee.”

Robert Peace recorded 103 tackles ​and 12.5​ tackles for loss in ⁢2003. Phillip Fulmer,his grandfather,lead ‌the Volunteers to a ⁤national championship in⁤ 1998 and ranks as the second-winningest‍ coach in program history.
